Matt is a high school math teacher and has taught at Columbia Grammar & Preparatory School for 19 years. He enjoys sharing with his students the joys and pleasures of mathematics for their own sake, and he's especially fond of using code to help illuminate interesting problems.  

Outside of the classroom, Matt and his wife mostly chase after their two young daughters. He enjoys cooking for his family and eating his way around New York City. He's a perpetually disappointed Knicks fan, and his favorite irrational number is sqrt(pi).
